I took a boat ride on the Nile. The actual lil' Baby Moses floating in a basket, turned to blood, ancient, Nile River. The real deal people. It's all so sureal that you know you have to take five thousand pictures before you leave because it won't even hit you until you get home. Upper Egypt is actually south of Cairo, don't worry it took me a while too, but it's considered "upper" Egypt because the elevation is higher. Around 1353 B.C. King Akhenaten, and his wife, Nefertiti, lived in Upper Egypt. King Akhenaten dramatically changed thereligious beliefs when he changed the theology of many gods to one god. He moved the then capitol of Egypt to Amarna. There are statues of Nefertitti everywhere. Upper Egypt is more rural, so the climate is chilly and some of the land around the Nile is very lush and green. I can't even process enough yet that I'm here, and I rode a boat down the actual lil' Baby Moses Nile River.
