Thanksgiving has come and gone, and we're now in the full swing of the Christmas season. The Justin Bieber Christmas Album is on repeat, and I've been digging through my closet to put together some Christmas event-going outfits. 2017 Winter fashion is simple, textured, and sleek, so I have 3 formulas for holiday fashion this year:
S E M I - F O R M A L
For more formal events, go for easy pieces that speak for themselves. The holidays are the perfect time to wear anything with sequins, and long sleeves with a short hem flatters all body types. Tights or stockings will keep you warm and classy in a piece like this sequin cocktail dress. When you wear something flashy and eye-catching, keep your jewelry to a minimum, like this Sole Society fabric wrapped cuff. Above-the-knee hems usually call for a heel closer to the floor, so these pale-pink d'Orsay flats from Gap.
D R E S S Y - C A S U A L
When you're headed to an office event or a church christmas party that's more on the dressy side but not quite to cocktail dresses and blazers, keep it simple and sweet. Take a piece you'd wear everyday like this lace-up back sweater and dress it up with a skirt. This black mini-skirt is a great versatile piece that you can wear with basically everything. If short isn't your style, then wear something in the same family like a long black maxi dress and layer a fun, textured sweater like this over it. Add some fun, flirty earrings and a bangle, and you'll be ready to eat Christmas tree shaped h'orderve platters all night long.
C A S U A L
If you're off to a casual Christmas get-together with friends, keep it Khloe Kardashian. Wear your favorite pair of high-waisted jeans with an easy black bodysuit. No muss, no fuss. Go for a neutral color palette and add metallics like these gold bangles and earrings. Top your outfit off with your best black heels and you'll be the best dressed in the white-elephant gift exchange.
Riverdale has become the trendiest and most stylish show of 2017, and winter fashion is sprinkled with all things Betty, Veronica, and Cheryl. After I watched the season one finale, I wore red lipstick everyday for like a two weeks.
Riverdale has been known for its gorgeous aesthetics and design, so put a little bit of Cheryl Blossom in your closet with a leather skirt this season. Another way to bring some River-Vixen in your wardrobe is a half-turtleneck. It's super sleek and practical practical for your winter style, and can easily been dressed up with some signature Lodge pearls. These Topshop flats are very Betty, and super comfy and easy to wear with any outfit. As long as you steer clear from red circles and black hoods, your winter wardrobe will be solid. [hold for cheesy sitcom applause]
Pantone has come out with the colors for 2017, and we have got a good hand of fresh colors to work with this year! Dig through your closet and hit the sales rack, because you do not want to miss out on this trendy new palette. Get some inspiration from our style forecast below and get these shades in your closet!
These days, there's a Christmas for everything, and you know you can't wear the same Christmas sweater to them all, trust me, I've tried. So mix it up this year with some holiday dresses! Work, Glam, Fam, I've got you covered.
A rich, holiday burgundy and some warm and cozy, lace up booties. I wore my favorite, super tiny and dainty "California" necklace and some big and shiny studs. Add matching lipstick and big bouncy curls.
Classy and simple. A little-black, leather dress with a gold bib necklace and some suede lace-up shoes. I used a neutral but shiny brown lipgloss and wore my hair in beachy waves.
Dress: Forever 21
Bib Necklace: Target
Someone always throws a glam-y holiday party, and this outfit is perfect for any sequin Christmas soiree. I wore a little off-the-shoulder top, some basic black booties, and my favorite gold sequin skirt in the world. Add red lipstick and dangly earrings.

Holiday Party coming up? Don't sweat it! Holiday parties are the most fun because you can dig deep in your closet and resurrect all of your glitter, sequins, and red lipstick.
Go for dark and rich colors, bold eyes, and fun prints and textures like this crushed velvet top, fur vest, and sequined maroon choker. My formula for Christmas parties is One bold color, one statement piece, and one texture to match, topped off with dark, matte lipstick.
When I'm traveling and away from my home sweet home, I'm all about finding easy outfits. This little cut-out shoulder dress is perfect outfit inspo for when you hit the road and travel to catch some sunshine, but you need more than your travel t-shirt and leggings. Perfect for my warm and humid day in Orlando.
Its September! Which means everyone launching new collections and the trends will start rolling in. Vogue published their 25 lb. September edition, Fashion Week just happened, and now in Orange County, it's Style Week, so here's a little kick off.
This dress is an easy way to start switching from summer to fall in your closet. You don't have to go from bathing suits and off-the-shoulder sun dresses to breaking out your long boots and beanies, just transition with things like warmer tones, quarter sleeves, and midi dresses.
Get this one at Forever 21, for $10.90, here:
My poor California girl heart can hardly take it, the end of summer is almost here. There's only two weeks left. I think I'm the only white girl who doesn't want fall to be here. Luckily I live in southern California, so, it's pretty much summer until Christmas. Here's some outfit inspiration to help you live up some of the summer trends in your last two weeks, until fall is officially here.
Is summer really over? The not going to school part? How did that even happen, June was like last week. I moved to California in January, so my internal season changer is very confused as to why it's been summer for the last eight months. But, even though school is here again, we have a whole month of summer left. So break your rompers and off the shoulder tops out and get your paddle boards, because there's 4 more weeks to live it up!
Here's a little something to give you some live-it-up inspiration.
I really can't help it anymore, I have off the shoulder fever. It's a gift and a curse. This flowy number is from Forever 22, along with the sandals, paired with a lighter wash denim. In love, cue the googly eyes for off the shoulder.
These strappy heels definitely qualify to be buy of the week material. They were two dollars. Two buckaroos people. Thrift stores in Newport Beach are where it's at. Strappy heels are perfect for seriously any outfit. A sundress like this, a formal dress for an event, boyfriend jeans and a statement necklace, they can do it all.
Right outside of Santa Barbara, bring your cameras and paddle boards folks.
